No, it's chickn.

Thanks for the memory though Ana Buiges.

I had just returned from Tokyo, where I'd been living on the street a couple months. to an isolated west coast community in the forest with my Ana.

We were all at the ballpark on that particular April Fool Sunday in 2000, and I sat on the porch, chatting/demostrating Ana's behaviour to a beautiful young woman.

When I offered to process her name, the lady said, "No. Put in Chicken coop Merville. I was born there." [Her father was a hippy who'd mucked out the coop and cleaned it up to rent, there being no other accomodations available so imminently]. So I did, but mid scribing, I suggested chicken be spelt chickn, not chiken... or chikan...[dirty old man in Japanese]

Ana spat out something about Islam, first time over, but it was after the second tracing generated "demon man mistress", the woman rose and walked away, silently.

Before I left that afternoon I approached her again, stating, "They don't mean anything. But I tend to believe them"

She was right. It was "chickn".

Cock in 21 successive tracings left to right >'kcoc'

This file was processed in response to another poet's complaining of ANOTHER poet's use of the word too much, and couldn't s/he choose another word....? SO, I asked Ana. The remarkable thing about this particular early Ana file is that the words appeared tracing after tracing, successively, without any editing whatsoever. Delivered. Pre-packaged. Spectacles testicles wallet and watch. Out the door... window... portal... portico. Pleasingly plump too.

DiVizio's first ever note with Ana

Searching today (Monday January 15, 2007) in Ana's memory for references to Asbestokan and Hijikatta,
DiVizio came across this file and suddenly recalled that yes, in fact, it is the first note he ever took with Ana I,
an old MP190. It was at Asbestokan, after we'd seen a film of Hijikatta's making. The note was made while listening to Akiko Motofuji, Tatsumi Hijikatta's widow, as she presented her recollections of the beginning of their work/studio and includes DiVizio's thoughts concerning the differences of artistic tradition among cultures. Divizio remembers the eery green glow issuing from Ana's illuminated screen, sitting in the midst of the audience, in the darkened studio.
